The Great Scientist CV Raman discovered the RAMAN EFFECT as on 28 Feb 1928. CV Raman had proved that if a light passes through a transparent object, some part of the light is deflected. Then a question came in his mind that why the color of the water is blue? During the return trip, he brought some equipment with him and he studied it. During this, he found that when the rays of the sun pass through a transparent object, some part of it gets split. Due to this, the color of seawater is blue.
How did the celebration of National Science Day begin on this day?
Celebrating Science Day on 28 February started in the year 1987. The then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi recommended celebrating this day as National Science Day to the National Council for Science and Technology Communication in the year 1986. After this, from the next year, February 28 was celebrated as National Science Day. On this day, many types of programs are organized in all the schools, colleges, and other places of the country.
