O level course Duration:

The O level Course Duration is one year, but slot bet 100 if you enroll in NIELIT, the O level Course Duration increases to five years. Applicants can complete the course in one year as well, but if for some reason you were unable to take the O Level Examination or did not pass it, NIELIT has a registration of every Applied Student that is valid for 5 years, so applicants can complete the course in 5 years. 

Eligibility criteria to pursue O level computer course are as follows:

  1. The candidate must have a 10+2 diploma from a recognized college in any field (Science, Commerce, or Arts) or 
  2. The candidate should have a one-year ITI certificate after the class tenth, followed by an accredited ‘O’ level course in each case. Or 
  3. Direct applicants must have a one-year ITI certificate after finishing class ten. In each case, this is followed by a one-year relevant experience. Or  
  4. The candidate has passed the NCVT-DP & CS Examination administered by DGE & T. Or 
  5. The candidate must be a graduate of a recognized university and be eligible to enroll in the O level Course. 

Syllabus for O level course:

The syllabus for the O level Course is divided into two sections: theoretical and practical. Candidates must complete the Theoretical subjects and Practicals for O level Courses in two semesters. To shortlist candidates for the O level Course, the NIELIT holds theoretical and practical exams semester by semester. Students must also complete project work as part of the O level Course.

Project Work:

Applicants must successfully complete one project in order to be qualified for the O level Course Certificate. However, no grades are assigned to it; however, after the second semester, students must complete the project assigned to them. Once the project is completed, the institute’s head will submit the project completion certificate of all students who have passed all of the papers and completed the project work to the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology for issuance of the pass certificate.  

The steps to download the O-level course syllabus are as follows:

  1. First, go to the NIELIT official website, www.nielit.gov.in
  2. Now, at the bottom of the page, click the “Education & Training” button. 
  3. Finally, click on the “Links to “Various Courses & Training Programs” 
  4. A dropdown menu will appear on your screen; select the “Computer Courses” link. 
  5. Finally, the O-level Course Syllabus will appear on your screen; simply click on it “The “View” button

The process to fill O level course application form are as follows:

The O-level Course Application form filling process is divided into two parts: Direct applicants and Accredited Institute applicants. Both candidates’ registration processes are quite different. The process for registering for O-level courses for both applicants is outlined below. 

For Direct Applicants:

  1. Candidates must go to the NIELIT official website. 
  2. The NIELIT homepage will appear on your screen; on the right-hand side of the page, click the “Apply Online” button. 
  3. Once clicked, under the IT Literacy Programme option, select the “O LEVEL (O)” option. 
  4. Clicking on it will bring up the “Online Registration Application Form For:-O LEVEL” page on your screen. 
  5. Carefully read all of the information on the page. 
  6. After reading the declaration, select the “I Agree & Proceed” option. 
  7. The O-level Course Application form will then appear on your screen. 
  8. The O-level Course Application form is divided into seven sections: Registration Details, Applicant’s Personal Details, Contact Details, and Additional Information. Permanent Address Specifics Correspondence Specifics Educational / Qualification Specifications, Identification Specifications, and Declaration Specifications. These sections are subdivided further. 
  9. Carefully fill out all of the sections and sub-sections. 
  10. Attach your photograph as well as your updated scanned image. 
  11. Send in your thumb impression. 
  12. Fill out the “Captcha” that has been provided. 
  13. Finally, click on the declaration box and then the “Submit” button. 
  14. Following the submission of an O-level Course Application form, payment can be made by the applicant himself/herself via the payment options (CSC-SPV/Online). 

For the Accredited Institute Applicants:

  1. Visit the NIELIT official website, www.nielit.gov.in or https://student.nielit.gov.in
  2. The NIELIT homepage will appear on your screen; select “Apply Online.” 
  3. Select the “O LEVEL” option under the IT Literacy Programme option. 
  4. The “Online Registration Application Form for O LEVEL” page will now appear on your screen. 
  5. Carefully read all of the information on the page. 
  6. After reading the declaration, select the “I Agree & Proceed” option. 
  7. Finally, the O-level Course Application form will appear; carefully fill out the application form. 
  8. Following the final submission of an O-level Course Application form, the Institute will verify the applicants’ Login Ids and Passwords. 
  9. The O-level Course Application Fees for one or more applicants can be paid online (if the payment option selected is ‘Accredited Institute’). 
  10. Finally, send the completed Online registration application forms to NIELIT. 

Note:

  1. The NIELIT will consider an O-level Course Application form valid only after it has received the registration fee (in the case of direct applicants) and the required documents, registration fee, verification, and online dispatch of the registration form. 

  2. Applicants must present the following official identification when completing the O-level Course Application form: UIDAI enrollment number (EID), Bank account (Passbook with Photo), Valid PAN Card Passport, A valid driver’s license, A valid photo ID card issued by the school/college authority. 

  3. It is mandatory for applicants to submit their Documentary Proof to the NIELIT Headquarters in order to support the information provided on an O-level Course Application form. 

The O level fees structure is given below:

  1. The examination fee is Rs.500/- per paper/module. 
  2. A fee of Rs. 100/- is charged in addition to the examination fees. 
  3. Improvement examination fees are Rs. 1000/- per paper after passing all of the papers. 

Note: Candidates from the SC/ST categories are eligible for a refund of their O level Course fees after passing the exams. They only need to certify the photocopies of identification as a member of the SC/ST category and NIELIT examination O-level course result sheet. 

The O-level exam pattern is given below:

  1. There are four modules in the O-level Course Syllabus: M1-R4, M2-R4, M3-R4, M4.1-R4, and M4.2-R4. 
  2. The exam lasts three hours for each module. 
  3. The theoretical examination is worth 100 points. 
  4. The practical exam course lasts three hours. 
  5. The practical examination is worth 100 points. 
  6. Exams for the O level Course begin on the second Saturday of July and January. 

O level Admit Card:

The NIELIT only issues the O-level Course Admit Card after the applicants have successfully registered. Candidates who have been admitted to NIELIT are given an O-level Course Admit Card. The O-level Course Admit Card is available on NIELIT’s official website. Applicants can easily download the O-level Course, Admit Card after the notification is released. For the examination, applicants must bring their O-level Course Admit Card and a photo identification card. 

O level Result:

The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) releases the O-level Course Result two months after the examination begins. The NIELIT publishes the O-level results in the form of a merit list. The NIELIT uses a grading system. Candidates with less than 50 percent will be considered unsuccessful. 

Note: Although practical marks are not added to the O level Course Result, passing practical examinations and completing the project are required to obtain the O level certificate.

The DOEACC ‘O’ Level computing course is intended for those seeking government jobs or those interested in web design. Students must also take an A-level computer course that covers the other areas of computer science or pursue a regular degree.  

‘O’ Level computer course is not equivalent to BCA. Students who have completed the ‘O’ Level course can enroll in the DOEACC ‘A’ Level course. BCA is a bachelor’s degree. The ‘O’ level course is significantly less than the BCA course.

DOEACC ‘O’ Level Course is a DOEACC Society foundation course in the field of information technology. The course will last one year (2 semesters of 6 months each). 

To view their results, students must enter their login information. Candidates who passed the exam can apply for the certificate after the results are announced. Only candidates who receive a minimum of 50% in both the practical and theory exams will be considered to pass. 

‘O’ level course is a basic course, whereas a PGDCA Diploma is a more advanced course. However, the DOEACC ‘A’ level course is considered equivalent to the PGDCA course. DOEACC scheme O’ level course is equivalent to a foundation level course in computer applications.
